![]() Hand cyclingI led a weekly hand cycling ride throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region. Although we normally traveled on asphalt, we weren't afraid to challenge our upper extremities and take things off road! Hand cycles are perfect for those who've had a spinal cord injury or lower body amputation | ![]() Wheelchair BasketballIt's fun provide the equipment for and to play in wheelchair basketball tournaments! It's a great way to raise awareness and have fun at local universities. | ![]() Quad RugbyOften referred to as "Murderball", this sport is often played by people who have quadriplegic qualities. What a great way to get some aggression out! |

![]() Adaptive TennisWe partner with the Midland Community Tennis Center to provide an opportunity for people in wheelchairs to play tennis. It's played the same as standard tennis, except you get to let the ball bounce twice before returning it to the other side. | ![]() AdventuringHand cycling is a great excuse to get outside in the summer! I worked with para-olympic qualifiers to help prepare them for road races. | ![]() Great Lakes LoonsWhat better way to enjoy a summer night than to get the gang together for a Loons Game!? This particular night it was a bit rainy, but we pressed on! |
![]() RacingWheelchair racing is just one of many events at Thunder in the Valley, an event hosted by Michigan Sports Unlimited | ![]() IndependenceHelping people experience independence is an irreplaceable feeling. That's why I chose to be an occupational therapist. | ![]() Wheelchair CurlingCurling isn't just for Canadiens! I've helped people compete and have fun on the ice. Adaptation is the name of the game. |
![]() Table TennisAs one of the events at Thunder in the Valley, table tennis is a great way for people to work on fine and gross motor coordination. This particular person had a hard time recruiting motor movement in their intrinsic hand muscles, so a little bit of tape did the trick. |
