Values, Missions, & Goals
"The secret to getting ahead is getting started" - Mark Twain
What defines me as a therapist... and as a person.

One of my professors at Saginaw Valley State University asked our entire class of students what one word would describe them the best. My answer was "genuine". Life is too short to live any one moment in a way that isn't "you". I think that respecting clients and colleagues requires me to be this way. At the end of the day you have to look yourself in the mirror and ask "did I give everyone my best?". I owe everybody I interact with an authentic representation of who I am. I owe them my fullest potential.

As a therapist, my mission is to allow my client to get better. Whether I help the person, facilitate them, aid them, coach them, educate them, or advocate for them, the person is the one making the progress. My mission is to help people do the things they want to do again. That's what drew me to Occupational Therapy, and that's the mission of my career.

Here are a few of my goals:
1.) To become an entry-level occupational therapist and learn as much as I can about my profession
2.) To promote Occupational Therapy, not only with advocacy, but by leading by example and showing the world how powerful Occupational Therapy is.
3.) To fully use all of the skills I've acquired throughout all my education and clinical experiences, thereby treating my patients with the most cutting-edge, evidence-based, client-centered therapy.
